I was disappointed with The Mars Volta experience as we didn't receive everything we were promised, but the show itself was amazing. I loved meeting the guys, they were very nice. I thought 3 opening acts was too much, especially Betawolf.
I have mixed feelings about the venue, Hampton Beach Casino. It's great that it's small, but it's awful how people push forward. Maybe the VIPs should have a separate area to watch the show, considering they paid more. It would be helpful if the venue had more security to keep an eye on drunk and belligerent people, not just to protect the band. I personally experienced threats, hits, beer spills, and screaming in my ear from a woman behind me. That was disheartening.
Overall, meeting The Mars Volta was nice, and they played a wonderful show despite the extreme heat we endured.
